R&D and Innovation evaluation

The 2011-2015 Galician Plan for Research, Innovation, and Growth

“During the next 5 years Galicia must confront a fundamental challenge: to develop an ecosystem of research and innovation that is sufficiently effective to put Galicia's economy in a competitive position worldwide.

The new 2011-2015 Galician Plan for Research, Innovation, and Growth, promoted by the government of Galicia, is expected to be a key tool for decisively increasing Galicia's degree of competitiveness as well as the well-being of all of Galicia's people.

To achieve this objective it is fundamental to promote and carry out high-quality research and innovation with a commitment to competitiveness. This is the only way to generate high-level projects, strengthen the fabric of small-to-medium sized businesses, and optimize the performance of Galicia's economy. However, in addition to the political support of the government, it is essential that businesses, universities, technology centers, and other parties taking part in Galicia's R&D and Innovation System contribute to the cultural change that is required in order to merge research and innovation with the spirit of business, and in this way to move towards a more knowledge-intensive model of development.

Only with everyone's involvement will we be capable of confronting the challenges of progress and prosperity while driving growth in Galicia's society and economy.”
