ACSUG MANIFESTO FOLLOWING ITS ACCREDITATION BY EQAR AND ENQA AND THE APPROVAL OF ITS STRATEGIC PLAN FOR 2025-2030

The year 2025 marks a new stage of work and planning for ACSUG as it looks to the future, following EQAR and ENQA accreditation for the next four years and the approval of a new Strategic Plan for 2025-2030, i.e. for the next five years.

The ENQA visit and evaluation in 2024 was very demanding, but it was also a catalyst and created a sense of commitment on the part of ACSUG to improve itself internally and contribute to improving the quality of our Galician universities.

Immediately after the ENQA visit, the Agency set to work on a Strategic Plan, in which ACSUG staff were deeply involved, drawing up a first draft, which was then submitted for consultation to the Advisory Council and the Governing Council, which made very important observations that were very useful in the final drafting, which was finally approved by the Governing Council at its meeting on 15 July this year, 2025.

We are thus embarking on a new cycle, following EQAR and ENQA recognition and accreditation, in excellent conditions to improve the internal and external functioning of the Agency, with the satisfaction of a job well done, with European recognition and with a willingness to work in the field of university quality, not only in Europe but also in Latin America, a task widely recognised by ENQA for the importance of expanding European higher education standards to that part of the world and contributing to the improvement of the Latin American higher education system. In this regard, it should be added that, in addition to ACSUG's membership of the INQAAHE network, membership of RIACES (Ibero-American Network of Higher Education Quality Agencies) has already been requested following the request of the Secretariat of that network, which expressed its desire and satisfaction that ACSUG could become part of the network because ‘its commitment to educational quality is widely recognised’.
